Content Writers’ Retreat, Montego Bay

This seven-day workshop will take place from 12th-19th August in the beautiful environs of Anchor Listing Villa in Content, St. James, Jamaica.  Its purpose is to allow emerging and established writers to work with a Guest Artist on creating new story ideas, finishing first drafts, and polishing existing manuscripts.

Inspired by a vision for the country, Mrs. Yvonne Coke founded "Hands across Jamaica for Righteousness" (HANDS).  This book, “Perspectives from the Jamaican M.A.P. - A Way of Life for Jamaica", describes her experiences with one of her programmes - using Jamaica's "Motto, Anthem, Pledge" as a means to uplift and provide direction for its people.

Bookophilia will be hosting the launch of two titles from the late Wayne Brown - poet, memoirist, journalist, literary scholar and creative writing teacher. The two collections, On the Coast and other Poems, and The Scent of the Past and other Stories, were posthumously published by Peepal Tree Press in November 2010 and May 2011 respectively.
