Several Tax Offices across the island will be opened for business on Saturday March 28, 2015 as Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) provides taxpayers with added convenience to file and pay, as tax season comes to a close. The Tax Offices scheduled to open are Constant Spring, May Pen, Mandeville, Montego Bay, Lucea, Santa Cruz, Port Antonio, Port Morant and all offices in the parish of St. Mary. The Portmore Tax Office, which normally operates on Saturdays, will also be open.
GATFFEST (The Greater August Town Film Festival) was created as a platform to showcase the films produced by the students and community members of the UWICFP. This community based film festival also creates an avenue for local and underground Jamaican filmmakers to expose their talents and works.
Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) wishes to advise the public that the deadline for the filing of Income Tax Returns has been extended to March 25, 2015. This means that Self-employed individuals, partnerships, companies, other bodies and employed persons with additional sources of income will be able to file on or before the extended deadline without the imposition of any penalty being applied. Persons are however urged to file and pay on or before the extended due date to avoid the usual last minute rush.
