Douglas Prout is one of the most versatile theatre practitioners of his generation. He has earned numerous Actor Boy nominations for Best Actor in lead and supporting roles, Best Director, and Best Set and Lighting Designs. He was influenced by the Schools Drama Festival while at Cornwall College and has benefitted from the nurturing hands of Jane Crichton, Dr. Carol Dawes and the legendary Paul Methuen. Director Prout has a colourful and impressive theatre career spanning over 3 decades. He is the only person in western Jamaica to have been awarded the Bronze Musgrave medal for Theatre by the Institute of Jamaica. He has directed over 30 successful productions and has also received critical acclaim for his stewardship of his native Fairfield Theatre in Montego Bay. He has received a Silver Medal from the J.C.D.C. for his co-authorship of the script "FAMILY AFFAIR" in their annual Creative Writing Competition.
