The Audiovisual Association of Dominica's Screenwriting Course

The Audiovisual Association of Dominica is holding its first Screenwriting Course for members starting this Tuesday, November 18th at the Fort Young Hotel in Roseau.

Members from the Audiovisual Association are coming together to develop screenplays for short films suitable for production in Dominica.  This 3-week course will train members in the technique of screenwriting, thus enhancing professional capabilities and building capacity in the local audiovisual industry.

The 5th Beijing International Film Festival will be held in Beijing from April 16 to 23, 2015. The Organizing Committee invites companies and organizations of the film industry to submit films for the sections Tiantan Awards (Competition), Film PanoramaForward Future and Documentary(Out-of-Competition).

Telefilm Canada is currently accepting entries of Canadian feature films on behalf of the Beijing International Film Festival.

Beam Camp, the summer camp for the fine and manual arts, technology and collaboration, announces its annual international search to find its 2015 Beam Projects. The large-scale collaborative projects are realized by Beam campers, aged 10-17, and staff at the camp's 106-acre facility in Strafford, New Hampshire.

Projects are budgeted at $12,500. Winning designers receive a $3,000 honorarium, travel costs, and are invited to visit camp during the project's production.

OECS Participates in the 2014 Trinidad+Tobago Film Festival

Sobers Esprit, Business Development Officer, Creative Industries Sector at the OECS Competitive Business Unit, leads a four member delegation to the 2014 trinidad+tobago film festival (TTFF)September 26-29, 2014.

The delegation, made up of well-known Antigua & Barbuda filmmaker Howard Allen, will also include Jessica Canham of the award-winning Dominica media-company Link International Productions, and broadcaster and documentary-maker, Chester Connell of “Off the Grid Media Company” of St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

Call for Entries: 38th Göteborg International Film Festival

Launched in 1979 with the goal show non-mainstream films to a broader audience, Göteborg International Film Festival has become the biggest public film festival in Scandinavia. In 2014, some 500 films from about 76 countries were screened by more than 35 000 visitors. Additionally, the Cinemix programme, with some 40 film related seminars, attracted roughly 11 000 visitors.
