The 8th Annual CaribbeanTales Toronto Film Showcase and Incubator Program is co-produced with Harbourfront Center and this year takes place between Sept. 4-14, 2013.

GUIDELINES FOR FILM SUBMISSIONS

• All lengths and genres accepted.

• CT seeks to promote works made by filmmakers from Caribbean backgrounds and/or that celebrate and explore Caribbean themes, and themes of interest and relevance to audiences from the Caribbean Diaspora.

Caribbean Tales Incubator Programme

The renowned CaribbeanTales Incubator Program, now in its 4th year, was launched in 2010, with the aim of bringing together filmmakers from the Caribbean and its Diaspora, within the context of an international Marketplace setting.

The 3-day incubator program takes place during the Toronto International Film Festival, and takes the form of intensive participatory workshops and sessions that explore craft and market practice from a Caribbean Diaspora perspective, and is led by leading Caribbean and Canadian film practioners.

Kingstoon- Animating Jamaican Creativity

The Government of Jamaica, in collaboration with the World Bank and the Canadian High Commission is launching “Kingstoon – Animating Jamaican Creativity” – a 2 day Animation Conference and  Film Festival to be held in Kingston, Jamaica  on June 20th and 21st 2013. The festival will see the participation of international industry leaders, Jamaican animation companies and operators, national and international potential investors, and policy makers.

As part of infoDev’s Women Innovators Network in the Caribbean (WINC), four women entrepreneurs & business owners have been selected to represent the region at the forthcoming 5th Global Forum on Innovation & Technology Entrepreneurship which takes place from 28th - 30th April 2013 in East London, South Africa.
